Welcome to Essay Weekly! Here are the blogging policies:
Each week, 1-2 students will be assigned to post a
critical review/analysis* of a reading from that week. In this post, you will
need to include at least 2 quotes from the essay, discuss
your reading experience (what were you thinking, feeling, while reading the
essay? How did it impact you as a reader and writer?), and explain how (or if)
this essay contributes to, or has changed, your own creative process as a
writer and/or your perception of creative nonfiction as a whole.
*500-word
minimum
Each student
will be required to provide at least 8 comments* throughout
the semester in response to another students blog post. I expect these comments
to be civil, engaging, and thorough. For example, comments such as this—“I
thought this was a real cool post. Nice work”—will not be counted for credit
(although you are, of course, welcome to support your other students with
positive comments!).
